GlossKit LLC Terms of Service (ToS)

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using the GlossKit platform ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"), which form a binding agreement between you and GlossKit LLC, a U.S. company.

If you do not agree with these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

2. Eligibility

To use the Service, you must:

• Be at least 13 years old (or 16 in some jurisdictions)
• Have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms
• Register an account with accurate information

Users who select the Student plan must verify their student status via a valid academic email address (e.g., .edu, .ac.uk).

3. Services Provided

GlossKit offers tools for:

• Linguistic transcription and annotation
• Morphological parsing and glossing
• Syntactic analysis with UD tagging
• Phonological tools (spectrogram and alignment)
• Grammar writing and publication prep

4. User Data and Privacy

All use of personal and project data is governed by our Privacy Policy.

Users retain ownership of uploaded data and outputs unless they explicitly opt in to share or publish content. You are responsible for obtaining any required consent when uploading third-party data.

5. Model Training Consent

Users may opt in to allow GlossKit to train AI models (e.g., ASR) using their uploaded and corrected data.

When you opt in:

• Your model will be published under your name (e.g., USERLASTNAME-asr-large-LANGUAGE)
• The model may be published on Hugging Face or a similar open repository
• GlossKit does not claim ownership of models created this way
• You may revoke consent at any time; however, once published, models will remain permanently accessible

6. Payments and Subscriptions

GlossKit offers both free and paid subscription tiers. By selecting a paid plan:

• You authorize GlossKit (via Paddle or similar) to charge your payment method
• Prices may change with 30 days' notice
• You may cancel anytime; access continues until the end of the billing cycle

Custom licenses for departments and institutions are available via our bulk licensing program.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the platform for unlawful purposes
• Attempt to reverse-engineer or exploit GlossKit systems
• Violate the intellectual property rights of others
• Upload harmful or offensive content

Violations may result in account suspension or termination.

8. Intellectual Property

The GlossKit name, logo, interface, and software are the intellectual property of GlossKit LLC. Users retain ownership of the content they upload or generate, except where otherwise specified (e.g., open model publication).

9. Termination

GlossKit may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violations of these Terms, suspected abuse, or as required by law.

You may cancel your account at any time. Upon termination, you will lose access to stored data and tools unless otherwise preserved via published or exported formats.

10. Limitation of Liability

GlossKit LLC is not liable for:

• Any loss of data, profits, or usage
• Errors resulting from user input or third-party tools
• Service outages beyond our reasonable control

Our liability is limited to the amount paid by you (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Sheridan County, Wyoming.
