GlossKit LLC ("GlossKit", "we", "us", or "our") provides cloud-based tools for linguistic transcription, analysis, and collaboration. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data transparently and securely.

2. What Information We Collect

A. Account & Identity Data

• Name, email address, institutional affiliation
• Billing details (if applicable)
• Student status (for eligibility)

B. Project Data

• Audio and video recordings you upload
• Associated text annotations, glosses, or transcriptions
• Model outputs (e.g., ASR, syntactic parses, etc.)

C. Usage Data

• IP address, browser type, and device identifiers
• Feature usage and app activity (for improvement purposes)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the GlossKit platform
• Enable collaborative work between team members
• Train AI models (only with your explicit opt-in)
• Process billing, invoices, and subscriptions
• Comply with legal obligations and protect against abuse

4. AI & Model Training

We do not train models on your data unless you opt in.

When you opt in to ASR model training:

• The resulting model may be published openly (e.g., on Hugging Face or GlossKit).
• Models are named with the format: USERLASTNAME-asr-large-LANGUAGE.
• GlossKit LLC does not claim ownership of these models.
• You will be listed as the model's creator.
• Consent can be revoked at any time; however, once published, models will remain accessible in perpetuity.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We may share limited data:

• With service providers (e.g., AWS, Paddle, Google Workspace) under strict contractual obligations
• To comply with legal requests or defend our rights

6. International Transfers

As a U.S. company operating globally, we store data primarily in the U.S. (via AWS). If you're located in the EU/EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards (e.g., SCCs) are in place for international transfers.

7. Data Retention

• Uploaded data is retained until you delete it or close your account
• Free-tier storage is not deleted after 30 days, but unused projects may be archived or flagged after long inactivity
• You can request deletion at any time

8. Your Rights (GDPR, CCPA)

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may:

• Access or correct your data
• Delete your account
• Object to data processing
• Withdraw model training consent
